Here it is, the trailer of Robert Rodriguez’s latest film, Machete. This the second trailer for the film and technically the “official” one. Back when a little movie called Grindhouse came out, Machete was one of the fake trailers that was used a a buffer between Planet Terror and Death Proof. The trailer had such a positive response that Rodriguez moved forward and made a full length feature.
And just in time for Cinco de Mayo!
Danny Trejo stars as Machete along an all-star cast: Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson and Cheech Marin. This is a cast that is pretty much off the charts.
Honestly, this look AMAZING. Rodriguez understands something fundamental about filmmaking that rivals (if not surpasses) Quentin Tarantino. Let’s also not forget what badass and talented actor that is Danny Trejo. Now he’s going to be the lead in his very own flick!? Sign me up!

I have been excited for this movie since I saw the “fake” preview during grindhouse. I’m glad they are doing a good job of it.
Dude. Rodriguez is, imho, better than Tarantino. In terms of entertainment. Tarantino is fantastic with music selection, and sets up some pretty artful shots from time to time, but I think that Rodriguez just has more fun with the whole thing, and as a result, he creates movies that are really entertaining. Almost like a neo-throwback to the 80s. Its awesome.
